Q:  What type of practice do you work in?
A:  General

Q: What is your title?
A:  Office Manager

Q:  How long have you been with this practice?
A:
 2.5 years

Q:  What are some of the duties you are responsible for within your practice?
A:  All things administrative, HR, team meetings, payroll, scheduling, insurance, collections, marketing, patient communication.
I also manage our training center, Corporate Lakes Education Center. I handle marketing, facility scheduling and leasing, catering, course communication, travel arrangements, website updates, hosting courses. We offer a variety of courses like CEREC Training, Implant Basics, Radiology and Phlebotomy.
I am also the Chapter President for the KC AADOM Chapter. We just started the chapter this fall and hold our meetings at the Corporate Lakes Education Center!

Q:  What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
A:  The People! Whether it’s my team, the patients or other dental professionals I just love being a part of their lives. I feel it’s a true honor to be part of making others smile. Plus I’m just a dental nerd if the truth be told!

Q:  What do you see as some of the benefits of membership to AADOM?
A:

Connecting with other dental professionals that share the same passion.  The webinars always offer great information and I look forward to them every month.  The conference…DUH!!!  The online forum is a great place to get questions answered. I am a huge supporter of the local chapters because it keeps the energy high throughout the year. Every time the chapter meets, people get excited and leave re-energized.

Q:  What other services would you like to see AADOM provide for dental office managers?
A:
I think one year the conference should be on a cruise ship!!! AADOM at Sea!  Mini weekend retreats by region would also be a fun way to keep connected with your extended dental family that you typically would only see at the annual conference. You could connect several chapter presidents per region to be on a planning committee and plan 1-2 retreats per year.

Q:  Have you ever attended an AADOM conference?
A:
  Yes

Q:  Can you tell us about your experience?
A:
Boca was my first conference and I was blown away by how I instantly felt like a part of the family. I loved the energy and all the fabulous smiling faces! It was great visiting all the vendors that were present. I learned so much from all fo the break-out sessions and was able to take that knowledge back to the office and start implementing right away.

Q:  Are you planning to attend AADOM17?
A:
  YES!!!

Q:  Are you a Fellow or are you pursuing Fellowship?
A:
  Pursuing my Fellowship

Q:  What practice management software do you use?
A:
   Eaglesoft

Q:  What company do you order the majority of your dental supplies from?
A:
  Patterson

Q:  Do you or your practice support any charitable organizations?
A:
Any opportunity we can find to donate to local charities, mission trips or auctions for charity events we do!

Q:  What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of work?
A:
I’m a huge football fanatic…KC Chiefs and GB Packers. But as a huge fantasy football nut I follow all the teams and players. Proud to be from KC (I live and work on the Kansas side). The people here are so friendly and it’s just a great city. My kids keep me busy in the evenings and weekends with all of their social events. But when my husband and I have a chance to get away you’ll find us either watching football, traveling to Vegas or going to the movies. Lastly, of course, growing the KC AADOM Chapter: the Front and Center Study Club!!! (team photo above is from our first chapter meeting!)
