Austin TX Chapter June 2021 Happenings
Volunteering in Austin!
Samaritan Health Ministries has provided affordable healthcare services to uninsured families in Williamson and Travis Counties in Texas since 1999. This medical clinic serves patients who have no health insurance. Samaritan is a charitable organization and relies on the generosity of volunteers, grantors, and donors to keep their services open!
I’m Jennifer Randall, president of the Austin, TX chapter, and I volunteer with this group in any way I can. At this most recent event Samaritan Health Ministries hosted their open house and ribbon cutting. The clinic board and the chamber of commerce were there along with many community donors. Having spent the afternoon setting up canopies, tables and chairs for all the VIP’s, well, I ended up a little pink in this photo. I’m happy to say the event was a roaring success with tours of the new facility and a champagne toast, which was enjoyed by all.
I have just started volunteering with this group this summer but I already see how this organization has an amazing impact on our community. Even though I only volunteer a few Fridays a month, I’m always reminded that we all need to take time to give back to our community. I live in an awesome community and I may only be setting up tables, or scanning badges, but I feel blessed to be helping those who truly need a helping hand.
