Austin, TX Chapter’s Mari Trigg, FAADOM, RDH Would Love You to Join Her for the Next 830,016 Inches

Starting the first quarter of the year with a half marathon is a fantastic feeling! I started team AADOM for the Austin Marathon in December. The Austin Marathon presented by the Moody Foundation connects non-profit organizations to passionate race participants willing to fundraise and raise awareness for causes that give back to our local community. I chose the Dell Children’s Foundation. I started strong with plenty of training in December. I had been following a couch to the half-marathon running program. The second week of January caught me off guard. My dad started to get sicker than usual after his chemo. My training plan went out the window. My dad ultimately passed at the beginning of February and before I could grasp life without him, race day was here. I naturally questioned should I still go? Am I ready? It came to me; my daddy did not raise a quitter! Sunday, February 20th, I drove to Austin at 6 am and ran my first half marathon for my daddy! It did take me 3 hours and 35 minutes to finish, but I finished! My plan is to continue to participate and grow team AADOM – I would love it if you would join me!!
