The Southern ME Chapter Aids Dental Assisting Class with Job Placement

Submitted by Stacey Singleton, MAADOM, Southern ME Chapter President

Volunteers from the Southern Maine Chapter of AADOM joined forces with York County Community College (YCCC) to interview & mentor the current class of the Dental Assisting Program. This gave 11 students the opportunity to be interviewed and receive feedback on the process.

The YCCC Dental Assisting Program is an all-expense paid, 10-week, 60 hours of hands-on & in-person training, accelerated program that provides students with the skills they need to enter a high-demand career as a Dental Assistant. Funding is generously provided through the Harold Alfond Grant and the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan to provide customized workforce training grants to Maine residents with delivery through YCCC and Maine’s other community colleges.

Many of the volunteers were able to aid in job placement assistance with several of the students. This was a huge success and we were honored to be involved to support our dental community on this level!
