Baltimore/Annapolis, MD Chapter Member’s Selfless Act Recognized

The Baltimore/Annapolis, MD AADOM Chapter wants to recognize one of our members, Melissa Cortes. Melissa is the Office Manager of Gentle Family Dentistry in Dunkirk, Maryland. On Thursday, 6/15/2023, Melissa took an 8-hour journey to South Carolina to rescue a 5-month-old Husky from a kill shelter. The pup, Sakari was brought into the shelter with open wounds and had severe infections. The next day, Melissa made her return home with Sakari in tow.

After just a few weeks, Sakari is infection free and has been settling in quite nicely with her new “sisters”, Roxy and Pineapple.

Melissa put her busy life on hold for a few days to save another. She truly exemplifies what it means to be an Office Manager. No matter the task, it is faced head-on without question. Her passion for animals runs just as deep as her love for dentistry. We are so lucky to have her in our corner and look forward to watching Sakari grow! You ROCK Melissa!
