Q: What type of practice do you work in?
A: General dentistry.
Q: What is your title?
A: Business manager.
Q: How long have you been with this practice?
A: Four years.
Q: What are some of the duties you are responsible for within your practice?
A: I oversee the business team (seven team members), financial management and accounting, A/R oversight, and collections. I also oversee patient relations, simple IT and handyman needs, and more!
Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
A: I love pushing our office and team to excellence and never settle for less!
Q: What do you see as some of the benefits of membership to AADOM?
A: As members, we learn so much from one another! There is such an amazing “family” in our local chapter and nationally that I can’t imagine having to go at it alone anymore.
Q: What advice would you give to a new office manager just starting out?
A: Jump in! Be a part of this organization and be teachable. Soak up all the information, methods, and ideas. Then make it your own.
Only you can determine what works best for the unique environment that is your doctor, your staff, and your patients!
Q: Do you or your practice support any charitable organizations or events?
A: Our office intentionally selects a different charity or local community need to support each month. This is in addition to the care we provide monthly to people who truly cannot provide for themselves.
Q: What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of work?
A: I love spending time with my family, kayaking, cooking, fun DIY projects, coffee or drinks with friends, Bible studies, and playing piano and singing!
